UTC Aerospace Systems (UTC) has been selected by AirAsia to provide MRO services as well as nacelle asset support for the airline’s fleet of Airbus A320 aircraft.
The services will be provided by UTC’s Aerostructures business as part of a five-year Prime Solutions agreement and performed at the Goodrich Aerostructures Service Centre – Asia (GASCA) facility in Singapore.
UTC’s Prime Solutions offering will see AirAsia receive customised nacelle support designed for its CFM56-5B engines including proactive maintenance of thrust reversers and secondary asset support for any other nacelle component during unscheduled removals.
“We’re delighted AirAsia chose us to perform maintenance on its fleet at GASCA, which is an advantage because the facility is located near its operations,” remarked Marc Duvall, president of aerostructures, UTC Aerospace Systems. “At UTC Aerospace Systems, we are proud of our customer focus, and this Prime Solutions agreement is meaningful because it comes from an airline that has grown through its commitment to providing value to its passengers.”
