Falko Regional Aircraft Limited has added 10 ATR 72-500 aircraft to its portfolio, which it has promptly leased out to PT Wings Abadi, the regional airline subsidiary of Indonesia’s Lion Air Group.
“We are delighted to have completed this deal which marks a significant expansion in our ATR-manufactured turboprop portfolio,” said Mark Hughes, chief commercial officer at Falko. “We are very pleased to add Lion to our lessee portfolio as Lion is one of Asia’s fastest growing airlines and one of the world’s largest ATR operators.”
Hughes continued: “This deal is a meaningful development for Falko as a key player in the regional aircraft market as it substantially increases our turboprop portfolio and represents major expansion in Asia, a key growth market. We hope that we can further build on this success with Lion in 2018.”
Chairman of Lion Group, Edward Sirait, welcomed Falko to Lion’s panel of lessors and said the group “looks forward to partnering with Falko in carving out a growth story in Asia Pacific.”
