Etihad Regional, operated by Darwin Airline, is set to launch a once-weekly seasonal route between Lugano and Sion during summer 2016.
From 8 May to 18 September 2016, the 35 minute flights will take place every Sunday using the airline’s 50-seat Saab 2000 aircraft. The outbound service will depart Lugano at 12:00, while the return leg will take off from Sion at 18:30.
Maurizio Merlo, Etihad Regional’s CEO, remarked, “We are delighted to operate the Lugano–Sion flight for summer 2016 alongside our other exciting destinations from Lugano, such as Geneva, Olbia and Cagliari. This is a good opportunity to utilise our fleet and crew’s experience to serve these secondary regional airports.”
Etihad Regional currently serves 11 destinations across Switzerland, Italy, Spain and France. Sion represents the twelfth destination in the Swiss regional airline’s network.
