Pratt & Whitney Canada (P&WC) and Flybe announced the engine manufacturer’s largest ever airline order for its Flight Data Acquisition, Storage and Transmission (FAST) solution with the airline expected to take delivery of nearly 70 units for its Bombardier Q400 and ATR 72-600 aircraft.
Frederic Lefebvre, director of marketing for P&WC confirmed that the whole Flybe turboprop fleet is to be equipped with FAST units. The airline’s CCO Paul Simmons added, “We have the system on a couple of aircraft already and they are proving their worth. We’ll also put this on the ATRs we are going to operate for SAS.”
“We appreciate P&WC’s commitment to offering a system and solution that efficiently responds to our business needs, “ confirms Paul Simmons, Chief Commercial Officer, Flybe. “Our existing fleet of 45 Q400s will now include 24 more with FAST technology and our new fleet of ATRs will also have them installed.”
