Adria Airways is carrying out a selection process between the Bombardier CSeries family and the Airbus A320neo family as it seeks to grow its passenger figures.
CEO Mark Anzur explained that Adria aims to double its passenger figures from around 1 million a year to 2 million over the next seven year period. “So we’ll need to begin receiving the new aircraft in time for our summer 2016 schedule,” he commented. He expects the order for additional aircraft to be between five and ten units.
The airline ordered two more CRJ900 NextGens in late March this year which will take the fleet to four CRJ900 NextGens, two CRJ900s and two CRJ200s. Adria also operates two Airbus A319s and one A320.
