easyJet to continue Amadeus partnership

easyJet has renewed its long-term partnership with Amadeus, giving the latter’s subscribers continued access to easyJet’s range of fares.
The partnership ensures corporate travellers can easily access and book easyJet’s Inclusive and Flexi Fares, supporting the airline’s business travel-focused growth strategy.
easyJet and Amadeus originally began working together in 2007 before the carrier piloted Amadeus’ light ticketing functionality, which uses XML-technology and has been instrumental in supporting easyJet’s growth of GDS-based bookings on Amadeus.
Anthony Drury, easyJet’s head of business, commented, “easyJet was one of the first airlines in the low-cost sector to make its inventory available to travel agents in the indirect channel. It remains of paramount importance to continue our relationship with Amadeus whilst leveraging the power of light ticketing and utilising key products like inclusive fares and corporate-negotiated fares.
“Around 20% of easyJet passengers travel for business and we continue to deliver on the strategy we launched in 2010 to increase our appeal to the business travel sector,” Drury continued.
