easyJet has announced passenger numbers and load factor figures for May 2015.
The carrier increased the number of earned seats flown – seats that are flown whether or not the passenger turns up because easyJet is a no-refund airline, and once a flight has departed a no-show customer is generally not entitled to change flights or seek a refund – to 6,490,974 from 6,054,249 in May 2014, a 7.2% increase. The load factor in May 2015 was 91.6%, up 2.2 percentage points from last May’s 89.4%
For the rolling 12 months ending 31 May 2015, earned passenger numbers rose 6.1% to 66,646,475 from 62,809,843 in the 12 months ending 31 May 2014. The load factors for the respective periods were 91.2% and 89.9%, year-on-year increase of 1.3 pp.
