easyJet is expanding its all Airbus fleet with a new order for 27 current engine option A320s, bringing the total number of A320s operated or ordered by the airline to at least 415.
Completion of this new order will see easyJet become the largest A320 operator in Europe.
“We are bringing new aircraft into the fleet as we continue to see a significant number of new profitable opportunities in our core markets in the near term and in order to maintain our cost advantage,” explained Carolyn McCall, easyJet CEO.
“easyJet is a demanding customer and this repeat order is as solid an endorsement as you can get for the A320’s proven productivity, reliability and comfort,” remarked John Leahy, Airbus’s COO–customers.
