easyJet has announced that it will commit to a full year service from London Luton Airport to Reykjavik is in response the passenger demand on the route, as more than 8,000 seats have been sold in advance of the inaugural flight on 27 March 2012.
Tickets for the winter season, which will start in October 2012 will be available from mid March on the airline’s website. Flights will continue to operate three times a week on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays.
Hugh Aitken, easyJet’s UK commercial manager, commented, “Our new route to Iceland has already proved to be successful with passengers at both ends of the route responding to our affordable fares. Iceland is an inspiring destination, and offers a unique experience all year round.”
