easyJet has introduced a 17th route from London Southend Airport to Lanzarote in the Canary Islands.The airline is expecting to fly 600 passengers a week on the route. Neil Slaven, easyJet’s UK commercial manager, stated, “We’re delighted to be adding another new route to Lanzarote. With the addition of new affordable routes, we are catering for the demand from passengers in the region who wish to fly from the airport. We are sure Lanzarote will be a firm favourite for those looking for a winter break.”New easyJet routes from London Stansted to Lyon (starting 12 December, 2015) and Paris (starting 26 February, 2016) are also on their way.Pictured: a specially baked large volcano shaped cake, prosecco and ice-cream in the Departure Lounge marked the inaugural flight between London Southend and Lanzarote.
