easyJet has inaugurated its new thrice-weekly service between Budapest and Lyon, a link with no competition.
Kam Jandu, Budapest Airport’s CCO, stated, “Last year we recorded an indirect traffic flow of 20,000 passengers to Lyon, a steady year-on-year increase which more than demonstrated the vast potential for both business and leisure travellers on this route. Our dedicated promotion of this prospective market has come to fruition and we look forward to welcoming easyJet’s passengers on this important link.”
Budapest Airport’s monthly passenger traffic growth in the period to end-March 2016 has exceeded 13%, with the new Budapest–Lyon flights set to deliver an extra 40,000 passengers to the former airport each year.
