Eastern Airways has been awarded a new contract in France to provide scheduled services between Lorient and Lyon.
From 5 January 2014, the UK regional airline will offer two flights a day and a Sunday service from Lorient South Brittany to Lyon Saint Exupéry.
Since September 2010, Eastern Airways has been operating domestic flights in France from its Dijon base with services to both Bordeaux and Toulouse. This latest announcement further demonstrates the carrier’s commitment to serving the regions of France.
Weekday services will depart from Lorient at 06:20 and 16:45, arriving in Lyon at 08:10 and 18:35 respectively. Flights will leave Lyon on weekdays at 08:40 and 19:05, landing in Lorient at 10:30 and 20:55.
Sunday flights will depart Lorient at 16:45, arriving in Lyon at 18:35, with return flights leaving at 19:05, arriving in Lorient at 20:55.
Kay Ryan, Eastern Airways’ commercial director commented, “We are delighted to be awarded this important contract to operate the Lorient South Brittany–Lyon Saint Exupéry route. This is a major step forward in the development of our domestic services in France. It is built on the back of the solid foundations that we put in place in Dijon, setting up a base and domestic services in 2010 to serve the Burgundy region.
“We play a key part in the local community in the Dijon, Côte d’Or and Burgundy area, and want to develop strong relationships with the CCI Morbihan and the regional tourism bodies as we provide a continuation of this essential Lorient air link to Lyon,” Ryan added.
