Eastern Airways is to offer a new afternoon year-round departure on it service between Leeds Bradford Airport and Southampton Airport.
The carrier will increase services from three to four flights each weekday in each direction on the route from 14 September 2015 with the introduction of a 12:15 departure from Southampton, arriving in Yorkshire at 13:25pm. In the opposite direction, there will be a new 14:50 departure from Leeds Bradford which will land in Southampton at 16:00.
These new flights will complement the existing 08:20am, 16:30pm and 18:35 services from Southampton and the 06:40am 10:35 and 17:05pm flights from Leeds Bradford. Eastern also offers a Sunday service leaving Leeds Bradford at 16:50 and Southampton at 18:45.
Kay Ryan, Eastern Airways’ commercial director, commented, “We are providing greater flexibility for business travellers with the increase in services to four flights each weekday between these two important business centres. The introduction of the afternoon service allows us to offer more choice and is a quicker, more convenient alternative to road or rail.”
Jan Halliday, Southampton Airport’s director of marketing and communications, added, “Business links between the two powerful industrial cities of Leeds and Southampton have always been strong. This additional daily service will make life easier for business people travelling between the two regions. It is also likely to be popular with cruise passengers from the north of England who join their ships in the Port of Southampton.”
