American Eagle Airlines has reported May traffic figures for itself and its wholly-owned subsidiary, Executive Airlines.
Revenue passenger miles (RPMs) for Eagle totalled 806,346,000 in May, compared with 685,067,000 in May 2010, a 17.7% increase. Available seat miles (ASMs) were increased by 14.4% to 1,036,167,000 from 905,503,000.
These figures created a load factor for the month of 77.8%, an increase of 2.2 percentage points over the May 201 figure of 75.7. Eagle carried 1,542,924 passengers in May, 10.6% more than the 1,394,765 carried in May 2010.
At Executive Airlines, RPMs in May were up by 6.4% at 46,660,000 from the previous May’s total of 43,863,000. ASMs were only increased by 1.2% to 79,861,000 from 78,936,000.
The meant a load factor increase of 2.9 pp to 58.4% in May 2011 from 55.6% in May 2010. Executive carried 240,629 passengers during the month, just 0.2% up on the 240,166 passengers last May.
