Embraer has delivered its 700th E-Jet – an Embraer 190 – with British Airways subsidiary BA CityFlyer being the recipient.
“The delivery of the 700th E-Jet is a great achievement for Embraer, and we are especially proud that such an internationally renowned, world-class airline is the recipient,” commented Paulo César de Souza e Silva, Embraer executive vice-president, airline market.
The aircraft, configured with 98 seats, has joined BA CityFlyer’s fleet of 10 E-Jets: five E-170s and five E-190s. The airline recently confirmed two additional E-190 options which will increase its fleet to 13 E-Jets by the second half of 2011.
BA CityFlyer MD Peter Simpson commented, “I am absolutely delighted to receive the 700th E-Jet. There have been many benefits to replacing our regional jet fleet with brand new Embraers, but most important for us has been the response from our passengers. We have had unprecedented levels of positive customer feedback about the extra space, enhanced levels of comfort and of course the two-by-two seating giving everyone either a window or aisle seat.”
