December and complete 2010 traffic released by Horizon Air

Horizon Air has announced preliminary passenger figures for December 2010 and for the whole of last year.

The carrier reported a 2.4% decline in revenue passenger miles (RPMs) to 206 million from December 2009’s figure of 211 million. Capacity in available seat miles (ASMs) was cut by 5.8% to 262 million compared with 278 million in December 2009.

These figures resulted in a 2.7 percentage point increase in load factor to 78.6% from 75.9% the previous December. Revenue passengers carried totalled 594,000, the same as 12 months previously.

Over the whole of 2010, Horizon generated 2.450 billion RPMs, compared with 2.408 billion in 2009, a 1.7% increase. ASMs were down by 1.7% to 3.235 billion from 3.292 billion the previous year.

The load factor thus increased by 2.6 pp to 75.7% from 2009’s figure of 73.1%. Revenue passengers carried in 2010 totalled 6,820,000, just 0.9% up on 2009’s total of 6,759,000.
