MTU Maintenance has signed a new contract with Conviasa for engine overhaul and on-wing support services and lease engine services for the General Electric CF34-10 engines which power the carrier’s Embraer 190 fleet.
Dr Stefan Weingartner, president, commercial maintenance at MTU Aero Engines, commented, “We are happy to add Venezuela’s flag carrier to our MRO customer portfolio. It is a sign that we are further strengthening our activities in the emerging markets. Moreover, this long-term maintenance contract with Conviasa is another sign that MTU Maintenance continues its successful work on the CF34 engine programme. MTU Maintenance has been an authorised CF34 service provider for the engine family since 2001 and has performed over 1,000 engine repairs, both off-wing and on-wing.”
