SkyWest, Inc. has reported combined traffic figures for its two subsidiary airlines, SkyWest Airlines and ExpressJet Airlines, for both June 2015 and for the first half of 2015 (1H15).
SkyWest reported 2,603,422,534 in revenue passenger miles (RPMs) for June 2015, compared with 2,814,407,863 for June 2014, a 7.5% decrease. Available seat miles (ASMs) were cut by 8.1% to 3,054,728,195 from June 2014’s figure of 3,325,097,932. The load factor in June therefore rose by 0.6 percentage points to 85.2% from 84.6%. The two carriers transported 4,972,163 passengers in June 2015 which was 5.3% fewer than the 5,253,163 carried last June.
RPMs for the airline pair in 1H15 totalled 14,686,253,483, compared with 15,441,216,277 in 1H14, a 4.9% decrease. ASMs were cut by 4.6% to 17,868,697,744 from 18,729,768,665 for the respective periods. These figures created a minor load factor decrease – 0.2 pp – to 82.2% in 1H15 from 82.4% in 1H14. Passengers carried in 1H15 totalled 27,856,293, which was 3.9% fewer than the 28,992,137 carried in the first half of last year.
