SkyWest Inc has announced combined January 2011 traffic figures for its three subsidiary carriers, SkyWest Airlines, Atlantic Southeast Airlines and ExpressJet Airlines.
The three airlines recorded a 51.7% increase in revenue passenger miles (RPMs) for January with 2,077,641,723 compared with 1,369,645,763 in January 2010. Available seat miles (ASMs) totalled 2,872,795,026 in January, an increase of 53.7% on January 2010’s 1,868,994,024.
These figures created a 1.0 percentage point decrease in load factor from 73.3% to 72.3% for the respective periods. Passenger boardings for January increased by 47.0% to 4,023,903 compared with 2,737,931 for the same period last year.
The substantial increases in RPMs, ASMs and passenger numbers are due primarily to the acquisition of ExpressJet Airlines on 12 November 2010.
