SkyWest, Inc. has reported combined traffic figures for August 2011 for its three airline subsidiaries, SkyWest Airlines, Atlantic Southeast Airlines and ExpressJet Airlines.
The trio generated 2,681,927,326 revenue passenger miles (RPMs) for August, a 53.4% increase over 2020’s figure of 1,748,653,000. Available seat miles (ASMs) increased by 53.0% to 3,318,753,417 from 2,169,194,985 for the respective months.
The average load factor across the three carriers was 80.8% in August compared with August 2010’s figure of 80.6%, up 0.2 percentage points. The total number of passengers carried by the airlines was 5,109,862, and increase of 46.0% over the 3,500,779 carried last August.
The substantial increases for RPMs, ASMs and passengers carried are due primarily to SkyWest Inc’s acquisition of ExpressJet Airlines on 12 November 2010.
