Colgan Air announces December and complete 2010 traffic data

Pinnacle Airlines Corporation has released capacity and operational results for its Colgan Air subsidiary for December 2010 and the whole of last year.

Revenue passenger miles (RPMs) in December totalled 59,388,000 copared with 53,164,000 in December 2009, an 11.7% increase. Available seat miles (ASMs) increased by 14.2% to 101,799,000 from 89,174,000.

The load factor thus fell by 1.3 percentage points to 58.3% for the month, compared with 59.6% twelve months previously. Total passengers carried went up by 8.0% to 228,626 in December 2010 compared with 211,636 in December 2009.

The December 2010 fleet comprised 33 Saab 340s and 22 Bombardier Q400s compared with respective totals of 34 and 14 in December 2009.

For the whole of 2010, RPMs rose by 7.4% to 688,744,000 from 641,069,000, while ASMs wer increased by just 2.3% to 1,121,158,000 from 2009’s figure of 1,095,485,000. Consequently the load factor of 61.4% for the whole of 2010 was 2.9 pp up on the previous year’s 58.5%. Passengers carried numbered 2,731,845, a 1.1% increase on the 2,701,971 carried in 2009.
