From 13 February 2015, AirAsia X will begin offering four direct weekly flights between Kuala Lumpur and Chongqing, flying into Jiangbei International Airport.
The airline will be the only company conducting direct flights between the two cities.
Flights to Chongqing are the newest addition to AirAsia X’s current group of five Chinese destinations from Kuala Lumpur (consisting of Hangzhou, Chengdu, Beijing, Shanghai & Xi’An). The Chongqing region, which is the largest municipality in southwest China, attracts tourists who are interested in exploring the Yangtze River.
Dato’ Bernard Francis, commercial director of AirAsia X said, “AirAsia X is very positive about our growth in China, and the addition of this new route will further fortify the point.” He continued, “With Chongqing added on our network, we expect to see our total revenue increase to over 17% with more than 1 million guests flying into/from our China routes from Kuala Lumpur this year.”
