Childs to succeed Atkin as SkyWest, Inc. CEO

From 1 January 2016, the current president of SkyWest, Inc., Chip Childs, will succeed Jerry Atkin as CEO.“On behalf of the board of directors, I would like to congratulate Chip on this appointment and thank Jerry for his outstanding contributions to SkyWest for more than 41 years,” averred Steven Udvar-Hazy, lead director of the SkyWest, Inc. board of directors. “Jerry's inspired leadership helped make SkyWest what it is today: an industry leader. He joined SkyWest in 2001 and became VP controller later that year. He then served as SkyWest Airlines’ president and COO between 2007 and 2014.Childs has also been elected to the SkyWest, Inc. board of directors, where Atkin will now continue actively serving the company as chairman of the board.
