Cebu Pacific receives first A321neo

The low-fare carrier Cebu Pacific has taken delivery of its first A321neo, the first of 32 on order from Airbus.

The new aircraft is expected to support the Philippines-based airline’s fleet renewal and expansion plans over the next five years.

Cebu Pacific is expecting delivery of five more A321neo aircraft this year to support its expansion, and is also set to receive five Airbus A320neo aircraft leased from Avolon, as well as an additional ATR 72-600 aircraft in 2019.

The latest delivery brings the total number of aircraft in the airline’s fleet to 72. On top of the A321neo, the Cebu Pacific fleet if comprised of 36 Airbus A320, seven A321(ceo), eight A330, eight ATR 72-500 and 12 ATR 72-600 aircraft. The ATR are operated by the airline’s subsidiary Cebgo for domestic routes.

The A321neo features 236 seats in a single-aisle configuration, with each seat also equipped with a USB port for passengers to charge mobile devices in-flight. Cebu Pacific’s A321neo is also powered by the Pratt $ Whitney PurePower GTF engine.
