Cebu Pacific Air has announced its 9-month figures for 2014, with the airline carrying a total of 12.5 million passengers between January and September, an increase of 14.8% on 2013, with 4 million of those travelling in the third quarter (3Q14), a 16.8% increase compared with the 3.4 million passengers flown during 3Q13.
“The Cebu Pacific Air group is on track to meeting our target of serving 17 million passengers this year. Cebu Pacific's growth in 3Q14 was driven by increased presence in key markets, sustained demand for air travel and industry capacity rationalisation,” said Jorenz Tañada, Cebu Pacific’s VP of corporate affairs.
The airline’s total revenues for 3Q14 rose by 32.4% year on year to P11.7 billion, while passenger revenues grew by 34.2% to P8.9 billion. Ancillary revenues grew 27.9% to P2 billion, which was driven by a 9.5% increase in ancillary revenue per passenger and increased passenger traffic.
Cebu Pacific's fleet of 52 aircraft is made up of 10 Airbus A319s, 29 Airbus A320s, 5 Airbus A330s and 8 ATR-72 500s. Between 2015 and 2021, Cebu Pacific will take delivery of nine more brand-new Airbus A320s, 30 Airbus A321neos, and 1 Airbus A330.
