Budapest Airport reports that Blue1 will begin scheduled services from Helsinki for the 2012 summer season, operating weekly from 2 June until 29 September, increasing to twice weekly in peak season between 4 July and 8 August.
Flights will operate on Saturdays throughout the season – with Wednesday flights during the peak period – using Boeing 717 aircraft.
This is a return to Budapest for Blue1, having previously operated the route from 2007-08. The new flights will provide passengers travelling via Budapest with improved transit connections to destinations in Scandinavia and beyond. “We are delighted to welcome back Blue1,” declared Kam Jandu, Budapest Airport’s aviation director. “This is a great seasonal connection with Finland providing local passengers with the opportunity to connect with a wider selection of Scandinavian cities.”
