BOC Aviation has announced an agreement with Lion Air for the airline group to lease four Boeing 737-800s and one 737-900ER for delivery this year and in 2015.
This agreement builds on the success of the November 2012 transaction for six Boeing 737-800 and three 737-900ER aircraft. The 737-900ER aircraft delivered to Lion Air were the first of the kind in the BOC Aviation fleet.
“With Indonesia being an important market for tourism and business travel, we are pleased to build on our strong relationship with Lion Air to support its growth strategy,” said Robert Martin, managing director and chief executive officer of BOC Aviation.
“The demand for short-haul regional routes remains robust, both within and outside of Indonesia,” said Rusdi Kirana, president-director of Lion Air. “This second transaction with BOC Aviation underscores the success of our strategy and our partnership with BOC Aviation in providing financing solutions for our 737NG aircraft delivery stream.”
