bmi regional has inaugurated its new Southampton to Munich route, which offers twice-daily flights on weekdays at business-optimised times.
bmi regional’s codeshare agreement with Lufthansa means that passengers can connect in Munich to a further 200 global destinations. All passengers have a 20 kg checked baggage allowance, complementary inflight bar and snack service, a 30 minute check-in and allocated 2:1 seating.
Jochen Schnadt, bmi regional’s chief commercial officer, commented, “Since we announced the launch of this new route we’ve received excellent feedback from both corporate and leisure customers with a positive volume of early bookings. This is bmi regional’s first route out of the south-east of England so we’re excited to bring our high quality performance, service and efficiency to a new audience. We already have a very strong route between Bristol and Munich and a number of onward connections from Munich into other European destinations. This new route further cements our position as a leading European airline for both business and leisure travellers.”
The new route features 12 flights a week, operating double daily on Monday-Friday and one flight per day on Saturdays and Sundays. The weekday departures from Southampton depart at 08:00 and 19:15, arriving in Munich at 10:45 and 22:00 respectively. In the opposite direction, takeoff from Munich is at 06:30 and 17:50, giving respective arrival times in Southampton of 07:30 and 18:50.
On Saturdays, flights leave Southampton at 09:10 and land in Munich at 11:55. This is after the flight from Munich comes into Southampton at 08:40, having departed Munich at 07:40. Similarly on Sunday, the service operates from Munich at 13:50, touching down in Southampton at 14:50. After at 30-minute turnaround, the aircraft pushes back at Southampton at 15:20 and reaches Munich at 18:05.
