In an expansion of the existing partnership between bmi regional and Brussels Airlines, the current East Midlands–Brussels route operated by the former carrier will become a full codeshare service with the latter. The codeshare agreement will provide passengers with enhanced connectivity from the UK via Brussels to a network of destinations spanning Europe, Africa and Asia.Flights will continue to operate twice daily on weekdays and once on Sundays using a 49-seater Embraer 145 aircraft on a schedule primed for business travellers on one day trips. The two outbound East Midlands–Brussels legs will take off each day at 07:30 and 19:35, landing at 09:40 and 21:45 respectively. The return Brussels–East Midlands flights will depart at 06:55 and 18:55, arriving back at 07:05 and 19:05 respectively. From 7 December, bmi regional will also begin operating a service between Brussels and Strasbourg on behalf of Brussels Airlines as well as a Brussels–Nuremberg route from February 2016.“This signifies a growing presence of bmi regional at Brussels Airport and greater co-operation with Brussels Airlines – a partnership that has gone from strength to strength since the launch of our first codeshare in March 2014 on our Brussels–Newcastle route,” commented bmi regional’s CCO, Jochen Schnadt.
