Azul Linhas Aereas Brasileiras (Azul) has signed a long-term agreement with Sabre Corporation to distribute its fares via the Sabre GDS.
Azul will now benefit from e-ticketing technology, which can deliver last-seat available inventory, schedules, instant booking confirmation and ticket changes via Sabre to 425,000 travel agents across Brazil, the US and 142 other countries.
Azul will also see increased retailing opportunities, with products and fares being offered to corporate travel buyers managing business trips with Sabre-connected agencies, travel management companies and corporations using Sabre’s corporate solutions.
“Azul is pleased to work with Sabre as we continue to improve our offering to an even wider range of corporate and leisure travellers, and to enhance our commercial operations,” noted Abhi Shah, chief revenue officer for Azul, who believes travel agents are "partners of our sales strategy". Azul will build on Sabre’s broad access to travel agents in the USA and other major markets to market and sell its products and services.
