From 4 November 2016, Aurigny will offer passengers an extra departure from Guernsey to London Gatwick on Fridays until the end of March.
The extra Friday flight will leave Guernsey at 12:30 before arriving at London Gatwick an hour later. The return service from London Gatwick will depart at 14:00.
It will mean that the airline is offering up to ten flights to London on a Friday; seven to London Gatwick, two to London City and one to London Stansted.
Aurigny’s 2016-17 winter schedule will also see a re-timed departure from London Gatwick on Sundays – with its 18:00 flight changing to 14:30 to provide a better spread of flights across the day.
Malcolm Coupar, Aurigny’s commercial director, remarked, “Fridays are one of our busiest days, with customers looking to book weekends away and business travellers heading home. The new lunchtime service from Guernsey plugs the historical gap in the schedule in the middle of the day and adds an extra 144 seats to our Gatwick service on the day they are most needed, throughout the winter months. For those choosing to come to Guernsey, the new early afternoon departure will mean that they avoid the Friday rush hour.”
“The Sunday early afternoon departure will remove the gap between our 11:50 and 16:30 departures from Gatwick, meaning much better flight time choices for customers arriving into Gatwick on Sunday mornings from a long or short haul flight,” Coupar concluded.
