August traffic data announced for Eagle and Executive

American Eagle Airlines has reported the August 2010 traffic figures for itself and its wholly-owned subsidiary Executive Airlines.

Revenue passenger miles (RPMs) for American Eagle totalled 727,867,000, up 15.2% on last August’s figure of 631,735,000. Available seat miles (ASMs) were increased by 14.0% to 977,604,000 from 857,656,000 in August 2009.

The load factor thus rose by 0.8 percentage points to 74.5% from 73.7% in August last year. Meanwhile passengers boarded stayed roughly flat at 1,427,456, just a few below August 2009’s figure of 1,427,804.

Executive Airlines’ RPMs for August 2010 totalled 48,115,000 compared with 50,430,000 last August, a 4.65% decrease. ASMs were increased by 4.4% to 84,080,000 from 80,519,000

As a result, the load factor fell by 5.4 pp to 57.2% from 62.6% last August. The airline carried 249,887 passengers in August 2010 compared with 248,056 in August 2009, a 0.7% increase.
