Alessandro Amendola has been appointed as the new senior vice-president of engineering for ATR, replacing Carmine Orsi.
Reporting to ATR's CEO Patrick de Castelbajac, Amendola will be responsible for all engineering activities related to the fields of certification and airworthiness, customisation, systems and propulsion, structures, flight tests, flight technologies, support, and quality, processes and methods.
As well as sitting on the executive committee, Amendola will also closely work with the programmes directorate, providing engineering support and solutions in the definition of new aircraft developments.
Amendola has held various managerial positions at Alenia (formerly Aeritalia) including chief technology officer and head of the CleanSky programme.
