Atlantic Airways will launch its twice-weekly summer schedule between the Faroe Islands and London on 5 June, switching the service once more to Stansted Airport instead of Gatwick, following an evaluation of the options for its London route.
Atlantic will operate the flights on Mondays and Thursdays, from 5 June until 25 August. Flights will depart Stansted at 10:05 on Mondays, arriving at Vagar Airport in the Faroe Islands at 12:30 and at 12:20 on Thursdays, arriving at 14:40. Return flights depart Vagar at 07:00 on Mondays and 09:15 on Thursdays, arriving at Stansted at 09:20 and 11:35 respectively.
Magni Arge, chief executive at Atlantic Airways, commented, "We have been impressed by the team at Stansted and its desire to work closely with us to ensure the success of our 2014 summer service to the spectacular Faroe Islands.
“We are close to the UK at a time when people are looking for new and exciting experiences that are perhaps closer to home. We hope many more people from the UK will visit our beautiful islands in 2014 and learn what makes ours a very special destination,” Arge added.
Stansted’s managing director, Andrew Harrison, added, “I’m delighted Atlantic Airways has chosen to return to Stansted and look forward to welcoming the airline back onto the schedules next summer. This will be a popular connection and we will do all we can to support the launch of these new services.”
