STG Aerospace has received a fleet-fit order for its Wireless Emergency Primary Power System (WEPPS) from Atlantic Airways.
The Faroe Islands’ national airline, which operates both international passenger services and domestic helicopter flights, has ordered the kits for its Avro RJ fleet.
The WEPPS system reduces operating costs by eliminating the emergency lighting system’s entire maintenance schedule. The system replaces conventional NiCd battery/charger packs with TSO approved ‘fit-for-life’ non-rechargeable batteries. Additionally, the entire emergency lighting system is managed by the WEPPS diagnostic panel that integrates new operating protocols with wireless communication, real-time MEL diagnostics, and solid-state electronics.
