Arkia Israeli Airlines, majority owned by Jordache Enterprises, has received its first A321LR as the launch operator for the long-range single-aisle narrowbody from Airbus.

The A321LR allows operators the flexibility to undertake flights of up to 4,000nm (7,400km) and tap into new long-haul markets, says Airbus.

Tel Aviv-based Arkia’s A321LR fleet, powered by CFM Leap engines, will be configured with 220 seats in a single-class layout. It has two more currently on order.

The airline is based out of Sde Dov Airport and operates domestic and international services, with other hubs at Eilat Airport and Ovda Airport. It also operates five Embraer 190 and 195 aircraft.
