American Eagle announces March traffic stats

American Eagle has reported March traffic data for itself and its wholly-owned subsidiary Executive Airlines.

Revenue passenger miles (RPMs) for Eagle in March 2012 totalled 815,310,000, an increase of 9.8% over March 2011’s 742,829,000. Available seat miles (ASMs) increased by only 3.7% to 1,066,543,000 from 1,028,561,000 for the respective periods.

These figures led to Eagle’s load factor in March 2012 rising by 4.2 percentage points to 76.4% from 72.2%. The airline carried 1,563,807 passengers during the month, compared with 1,425,481 passengers carried in March 2011, a 9.7% increase.

For Executive Airlines, RPMs totalled 21,538,000 during March 2012, 46,761,000, a drop of 53.9%. ASMs, however, were cut by 57.6% to 35,632,000 from 84,067,000. The load factor thus rose by 4.8 pp to 60.4 % from 55.6% The airline carried 115,400 passengers in March 2012, compared with 241,978 in March 2011, a 52.3% decrease.
