American Eagle announces April 2010 traffic figures

American Eagle Airlines has reported its April 2010 traffic and that for its wholly-owned subsidiary Executive Airlines.

During April, American Eagle generated 656,481,000 revenue passenger miles (RPMs), an increase of 10.2% over last April’s figure of 595,885,000. Available seat miles also rose – by 9.8% – to 887,488,000 from 808,144,000.

These figures led to a 0.3 percentage point (pp) increase in load factor to 74.0% from 73.7%. The total passengers carried during the month was 1,356,727 compared with 1,308,300 carried in April 2009, a 3.7% increase.

At Executive Airlines, RPMs for April 2010 totalled 43,837,000, a fall of 9.8% compared with April 2009’s figure of 48,624,000. ASMs were cut by 1.2% to 78,640,000 from 79,575,000.

The load factor consequently fell by 5.4 pp to 55.7% from last April’s 61.1%. During April 2010, Executive carried 232,673 passengers, 1.9% fewer than last April when 237,284 flew with the carrier.
