American Airlines reports regional traffic for June and first half of 2014

American Airlines Group has reported June 2014 and first half (1H14) traffic results for its regional operations including wholly owned subsidiaries and capacity purchase partners flying under American Airlines and US Airways codes.

In June, revenue passenger miles (RPMs) totalled 1,942,724,000, up 2.2% from June 2013’s figure of 1,901,523,000. Available seat miles (ASMs) were cut by 2.2% to 2,353,705,000 from last June’s 2,359,038,000.

The June load factor was 82.5%, up 1.9 percentage points on the 80.6% of June 2013. Meanwhile, the number of passengers carried totalled 4,544,541, compared with 4,367,482 last June, a 4.1% increase.

In the first half of the year (1H14), RPMs totalled 10,845,916,000, compared with 10,585,406,000 in 1H13, a 2.5% increase. ASMs were cut by 1.7% to 13,652,394,000 from 13,894,531,000.

The load factor in 1H14 was 79.4%, up 3.2 pp from the 76.2% in 1H13. The passengers carried during the respective periods numbered 25,261,886 and 24,624,326, the 1H14 figure being 2.6% up on 1H13’s.
