Allegiant announces December and full 2014 traffic figures

Allegiant Travel Company has reported preliminary passenger traffic results for December 2014 and also for the whole of last year.

Allegiant’s low-fare scheduled services generated 684,073,000 revenue passenger miles (RPMs) in December 2014, compared with 643,991,000 the previous December, a 6.2% increase. Available seat miles (ASMs) were increased by 3.9% to 794,842,000 from 764,840,000 for the respective periods.

These figures created a 1.9 percentage point increase in the load factor to 86.1% in December 2014 from December 2013’s figure of 84.2%. Passengers carried were 716,694 and 659,413 for the respective months, meaning an 8.7% year-on-year increase.

RPMs for 2014 totalled 7,711,696,000, up 9.9% over 2013’s total of 7,015,108,000. ASMs, however, grew by 10.1% to 8,693,631,000 from 7,893,119,000, which led to a 0.2 pp drop in the load factor to 88.7% from 88.9%. Allegiant Air’s scheduled services carried 8,017,442 passengers in 2014, compared with 7,103,376 in 2013, a 12.9% increase.
