From 1 May, all of Scoot’s Australian routes will be operated exclusively by Boeing 787 Dreamliners.
The date also marks the entry into service of the airline's third 787, named ‘Inspiring Spirit’, which will serve the Gold Coast. It was delivered to Scoot at Boeing's Charleston, South Carolina factory on 23 April and arrived in Singapore on 26 April.
With more 787s entering service in the months ahead, Scoot is also increasing frequencies between Singapore and Australia. Perth will become a daily service like Sydney, whilst flights to the Gold Coast will operate five times weekly. Finally, Melbourne will commence with a five times weekly service from 1 November 2015.
Perth and Sydney are already exclusively served by 787s, as Melbourne will be when flights start in November. Outside Australia, Scoot's Hong Kong and Bangkok routes are already operated by 787s. Flights to Kaohsiung using 787s will begin on 9 July 2015.
Scoot's CEO, Campbell Wilson, commented, “Scoot's Dreamliners have raised the bar for budget travel. Everyone's loving the extra comfy seats, new cabin environment that's literally more refreshing, features such as inflight connectivity and in-seat power, along with all the other features people have come to expect from Scoot.”
