The regional arm of Alaska Air carried 889,000 passengers during August 2016, a 7% increase on the 831,000 passengers carried during the same month the previous year.During August 2016, the carrier’s revenue passenger miles increased by 12.2% to 349 million against a 13.1% growth in available seat miles to 423 million, which means it has seen a 0.7 percentage point decrease in load factor to 82.5% year-over-year.83.1% of Alaska’s regional flights arrived on time during August 2016 in comparison to 75.5% during August 2015.For the year-to-date in 2016, Alaska has seen a 5% rise in revenue passengers to 6,304,000 from 6,003,000 for the year-to-date in 2015.
Year-to-date figures for 2016 also show a load factor of 85.2%, which is 2 percentage points lower than the same period the previous. Revenue passengers have increased 16% to 2,486,000 against a 19.2% rise in available seat miles to 3,124,000 year-over-year.
87.2% of Alaska’s regional flights have been delivered on time for the year-to-date in comparison to 85.2% for the same period the previous year, marking an increase of two percentage points.
