Mexican low-fare carrier Interjet has selected Italy’s Geven to equip its upcoming Airbus A320neo aircraft.

An agreement was signing at Aircraft Interiors Expo (AIX) in Hamburg that means the airline will use Naples-based Geven’s new lightweight Essenza seat model to equip its new fleet of 35 A320neos, with first delivery slated for May 2019. The selected seat model, in its reclining version, will help Interjet bring more comfort to its customers through a more cushioned seat, a multiway padded headrest, USB, in-seat power supply and a generous seat pitch, says Geven.

Francisco Arias, Interjet EVP, said: “Interjet is renowned for being extremely focused on promising its passengers an outstanding flight experience and partnering with Geven has proven to be the right way to deliver on that promise. The seat meets the needs of Interjet not only in terms of comfort but also for its low part count, light weight and easy clean structure, thanks to an innovative design and state of the art technologies.”

Interjet has one of the youngest fleets in Mexico, flying A320s and being the first Mexican carrier to fly the new A321neo.
