airBaltic has reported its traffic data for June 2016 during which it achieved a 20.8% increase in load factor for its operation in Estonia.
The carrier has substantially lowered fares this year and generated additional passengers on its direct routes linking Tallinn with Vienna, Berlin, Riga, Paris. This helped to improve the load factor on these routes to 79% in June compared with the same period a year ago.
In April 2016, airBaltic became – for the first time – the number one airline in Estonia by passenger numbers. Having continued that in May, airBaltic has further strengthened its offering out of Tallinn by launching a direct twice-daily service to Vilnius with morning and evening departures. As part of its Horizon 2021 plan, the airline will operate 11 direct routes out of Tallinn and Vilnius in the next five years, in combination with convenient transfers via Riga.
