From 25 March 2016, AirAsia will begin operating four times weekly flights between Kuala Lumpur and Shantou, China, marking the introduction of the airline group’s 14th exclusive route into China from Malaysia.
Flights will depart Kuala Lumpur at 10:50 before arriving in Shantou at 15:10. The return service will leave Shantou at 15:55 and reach Kuala Lumpur at 20:35 (all local times).
The service will be operated by AirAsia Berhad (airline code AK) using an Airbus A320 with a seat capacity of 180 on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays.
Spencer Lee, AirAsia Berhad’s head of commercial, averred, “We are very happy to add Shantou to our list of destinations in China. We are positive that this route will further add towards the number of Chinese tourist arrivals into Malaysia, especially with the recent announcement by the government to relax visa policies for China visitors into the country.”
