AirAsia inaugurates Penang–Yangon service

AirAsia has commenced thrice-weekly flights between Penang International Airport and Yangon International Airport every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday, marking its seventh international destination from the former location.The Penang–Yangon leg will depart at 12:00 and land at 12:45, while the return Yangon–Penang flights will leave at 13:10 to arrive at 17:00.Aireen Omar, AirAsia Berhad’s CEO, averred, “We were just here in Penang less than two months ago to celebrate our Penang–Ho Chi Minh City direct flights, and today we are thrilled to mark another milestone in our commitment to grow Penang as our northern hub. We are confident we will be able to further position Penang as a preferred destination through our marketing efforts to promote this route. We would like to thank the government of Penang and Penang Global Tourism for the support given towards AirAsia and in making the launch of this route possible.”AirAsia also flies directly to Yangon twice daily from Kuala Lumpur and four-times daily from Bangkok.
