AirAsia has celebrated its first flight to Lombok, Indonesia, achieving a 100% load for the maiden flight from Kuala Lumpur.
At KL’s Low Cost Terminal, AirAsia Berhad CEO, Aireen Omar and Head of Transportation, Communication and Information of West Nusa Tenggara, Ridwansyah Mohd Yakub gave out goodie bags to guests bound for Lombok, before joining the flight, accompanied by an entourage consisted of AirAsia and West Nusa Tenggara Governor’s office representatives.
Aireen Omar remarked, “This latest route is the fifteenth Indonesian route that we operate from Kuala Lumpur, with a total of 17 from our Malaysian hubs in Kuala Lumpur, Penang and Kota Kinabalu. Bookings for this new route, since we opened for sale in August 2012 have reached more than 9,000 seats. We put a lot of effort in promoting this new route, and we are happy to receive excellent response from the public to fly and explore Lombok, the hidden gem of Indonesia.
The new Kuala Lumpur–Lombok route is available three times a week – on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sunday – departing KL at 08:35 and arriving in Lombok at 11:45, while the return leaves Lombok at 12:15 and lands back at KL at 15:25.
