Airstream International Group has sold an ATR 72-500 previously operated by Kingfisher Airways to Air Vanuatu, which plans to operate the aircraft on both domestic and international routes.
Named ‘Betty Emma’ and already painted in Air Vanuatu’s livery (pictured), the ATR 72-500 had an extensive refurbishment at Sepang Aircraft Engineering in Malaysia, before undertaking a delivery flight through Bali in Indonesia and then Darwin and Cairns in Australia, before finally arriving at Port Vila in Vanuatu.
This is the ninth ATR aircraft Airstream International has either sold or leased in 2014. The work package was managed by McLarens Aviation on behalf of the seller, Plateau Aviation. Barclays Bank acted on behalf of the owner and agent for the French and Italian export credit agencies in the transaction. Aviation Management Sales managed the transaction on behalf of Air Vanuatu.
