Air Berlin carried 2,403,421 passengers during March 2010, 4.8% more than in the 2,293,158 carried in the corresponding month last year.
At the same time, the carrier was able to increase its revenue per available seat kilometre (RASK) to 5.58 eurocents, up 1.4% on March 2009’s RASK of 5.51 eurocents. The load factor decreased by 1.7 percentage points to 72.3%, from 74.0% last March. Capacity increased by 7.3% over the corresponding month in 2009.
For the first quarter from January to March 2010, Air Berlin carried 6,235,175 passengers, a 2.4% increase over the 6,089,685 passengers carried in 1Q09. The load factor for the first three months of the year decreased by 0.8 percentage points to 70.8% from 71.6% in 1Q09.
