Air Berlin has reported its passenger figures for May 2010, including a 1.7% increase in passengers carried.
Capacity offered by the airline totalled 3,922,586 available seat kilometres (ASKs) and it welcomed 2,905,322 passengers on board, an increase of 1.8% over May 2009’s figure of 2,853,716. Load factor decreased to 74.0%, a fall of 2.7 pp from 76.7% last May. The problems caused by the presence of volcanic ash in the atmosphere and the resulting booking behaviour led revenue per available seat kilometre (RASK) decreased by 6.9% from 5.88 to 5.48 eurocents.
